Limited Warranty Policy

This Limited Warranty is extended to the original end user for products installed in residential or commercial applications, subject to the terms, conditions, and limitations outlined below.

A1 Doors & Windows warrants that its products will be free from material and workmanship defects that would render the product non-serviceable or unfit for its intended use during the following periods:

  • Residential Applications: Five (5) years from the Invoice Date.
  • Commercial Applications: Two (2) years from the Invoice Date.

Definition of Invoice Date: For the purposes of this warranty, the “Invoice Date” refers to the original date listed on the invoice issued by A1 Doors & Windows to the purchasing party. This Limited Warranty applies exclusively to the original purchaser or original end user and is completely non-transferable and non-assignable. No distributor, dealer, installer, contractor, or representative has the authority to alter, modify, or extend the terms of this warranty.

1. Warranty Coverage & Remedies

If a product is determined by A1 Doors & Windows to have a valid structural or material defect, we will, at our sole and absolute discretion, execute one of the following remedies:

  1. Repair the defective product; or
  2. Replace the defective product with the same or a similar product originally supplied.

If we elect to replace a product, the warranty coverage for the replacement item will only extend to the remaining balance of the original product’s warranty period.

Labor and Secondary Costs Exclusion: This warranty covers replacement parts only. A1 Doors & Windows does not cover, and is not responsible for, costs associated with labor, installation, removal, painting, or shipping fees. Under no circumstances shall A1 Doors & Windows be liable for contractor downtime, project delays, property damage, incidental damages, or consequential damages related to the repair or replacement of any product.

On-Site Service Access: If A1 Doors & Windows performs any authorized on-site warranty work, the claimant is strictly responsible for providing safe, unobstructed access to the repair site.

2. Installation & Product Inspection Requirements

Installation Responsibility: Proper installation is the sole responsibility of the distributor, contractor, installer, or end user. A1 Doors & Windows expressly disclaims any liability for work performed by third parties. Any warranty coverage is instantly voided if the product is altered, modified, misused, improperly installed, or poorly maintained after leaving our possession.

Mandatory 5-Day Delivery Inspection: All products must be fully inspected immediately upon arrival. Any defects, structural damages, shortages, or discrepancies must be reported to us within five (5) calendar days of delivery. Failure to report issues within this timeframe constitutes full acceptance of the product in “as-delivered” condition. Do not install incorrect products. Installing an incorrect or visible defect unit constitutes permanent acceptance of the item, voiding future claims.

3. Hardware Replacement Protocol

After the initial 5-day inspection window has closed, A1 Doors & Windows may offer a one-time replacement of defective hardware components at no product cost. However, all shipping and transportation fees remain the responsibility of the claimant. To complete this process, the following tracking protocol must be followed:

  • The defective hardware must be returned to our facility in its designated packaging within fourteen (14) days of receiving your replacement components.
  • A valid payment card is required when initiating a hardware warranty claim. If the defective components are not returned within the 14-day window, A1 Doors & Windows reserves the right to charge the card for the full retail value of the replacement hardware.

4. Specific Exclusions and Limitations

The following items, conditions, and environmental reactions are explicitly not considered manufacturing defects and are excluded from coverage:

  • Structural & Installation Issues: Improper installation (including execution without a proper sill pan); structural movement or settling of the surrounding building; water damage claims where a sill pan was not installed; sliding door systems utilizing a “low track” profile installed without a minimum of a 48-inch patio cover.
  • Environmental Conditions: Slight thermal expansion/contraction of aluminum profiles; damage from accidents, corrosive fumes, or acts of nature (fire, floods, storms); normal wear and tear; condensation or frost formation caused by humidity levels or extreme temperature changes.
  • Glass & Screen Restrictions: Glass scratches or blemishes not reported within the 5-day window; glass breakage occurring after delivery; glass supplied by third-party vendors; minor glass imperfections that do not impair structural integrity under ASTM standards; visual distortion from the tempering process; mesh screen damage caused by pets, children, or misuse.

5. Coastal and Saltwater Environments

Products installed within coastal areas face accelerated corrosive conditions. Consequently, hardware, handle sets, and standard finishes are not covered under warranty in these geographic zones.

Mandatory Maintenance for Coastal Installations: To keep your limited paint warranty active in a coastal zone, you must comply with the following protocols:

  • All exterior aluminum surfaces and hardware tracks must be cleaned monthly using a soft cloth, mild soap, and fresh water.
  • Accumulations of salt, sand, dirt, and debris must be cleared immediately from tracks.
  • Custom-color aluminum paint finishes installed in coastal environments are strictly limited to a one (1) year warranty window from the Invoice Date.
  • Any coastal defect claim must be submitted within thirty (30) days of the defect first appearing.

6. Electronic Components Warranty

High-tech or electronic integrations—including electric locks, automated switches, built-in motors, and smart glass features—are covered for a period of ninety (90) days from the original Invoice Date. This coverage excludes damage caused by improper wiring, third-party electrical modifications, or installations performed by non-certified professionals.

7. How to File a Warranty Claim

Dealers must submit all warranty claims in writing via email to our claims department: info@doorandwindow.store. Every written claim must include:

  1. The original product invoice number
  2. The exact date and physical location of purchase
  3. A detailed written description of the issue along with clear supporting photographs
  4. The full name, site address, and phone number of the claimant

Inspection Notice: A1 Doors & Windows reserves a minimum of thirty (30) days from receipt of a complete written claim to review, inspect, and evaluate the product before determining warranty eligibility.
